"The Unremembered" Wreathmaking Challenge

A Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government Project. The Compton Remembrance Wreath was displayed at The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London.

Flowers created for a special Remembrance Wreath which was chosen for display at the Commonwealth Heads of Governement Meeting in London as part of The Unremembered Project.

"Standing Tall" Textiles Workshop

A major Community Art Project commissioned by Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. We invited Compton Care Hospice Patients to help make patchwork clothes for a 2 storey high Giant which was on Public display during Jack & the Beanstalk.

Textiles Workshop for Wolverhampton Grand Theatre. We showed people an easy Textiles technique so that everyone could participate in the Standing Tall Community Art Project.
A simple embroidery stitch that was easy to learn was all that was needed to create a stitched effect that would stand out on the Giant's clothes.
Participation levels were extremely high for this Art & Craft Workshop. Compton Hospice contributed the most patches - over 50 - for the Giant's patchwork clothes!
This simple Textiles Applique Workshop at Compton Care Hospice Wolverhampton was enjoyed by all abilities. The activity was planned so that it could be worked on at the craft table or on a lap tray.

The finished Giant was 2 storeys high. We installed it on the main staircase at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.
We constructed the Giant in 2 parts so that he could be installed over 2 storeys.
