Pool Hayes Academy Students learning how to create Woven Fabric in this Creative D&T session. Students increased their Language and Communication Skills and gained knowledge and understanding of technical words and processes. Their understanding was embedded through their practical application of the processes explored.
The Weaving Designs formed part of the patchwork clothes for a 2-storey high Giant for the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre panto Jack & the Beanstalk. Heath House Studios were commissioned by WGT to design the large-scale Community Artwork and to deliver a long programme of Creative Workshops to enable over 200 local people to participate.
Students from Smestow School created the Giant's head. Heath House Studios built the huge "skeleton" and installed the finished Giant on the main staircase at WGT.
